Plaintiff issued a writ for $60000 claiming breach of contract for a boat sold to the defendant. The defendant's failure to enter appearance led to a default judgment later adjusted to $24000 based on defendant's admissions. The trial contested the terms and value of accommodation provided in lieu of cash payment.
