FACTS OF THE CASE:
Jahmeekah Wilson, a civilian data entry clerk at the Bermuda Police Service, was convicted of corruption for withdrawing 79 parking tickets, some of which belonged to her sister, in exchange for money. She initially pled not guilty but later changed her plea during trial. The Magistrates? Court sentenced her to fines, but the prosecution appealed, arguing that imprisonment was the only appropriate sentence for public corruption.
