FACTS OF THE CASE:
On 4 January 2014 Bryan Daniel lost control of his Mitsubishi on Harrington Sound Road causing a fatal accident that killed Nikko Woodley. Daniel was driving at nearly three times the speed limit with no recollection of the event due to a coma resulting from the accident.
SUMMARY:
Whether the sentence of 6 months' imprisonment for causing death by dangerous driving was adequate.
OUTCOMES:
Sentence of 6 months' imprisonment increased to 2 years by the Court of Appeal due to the grossly excessive speed at which Daniel was driving.
