The case centers on a copyright dispute involving the retransmission of Sesame Workshop's copyrighted children's educational programming by Bermuda Cablevision Limited. Sesame Workshop licensed Bermuda Broadcasting Company Ltd (BBC) to broadcast its content in Bermuda but Cablevision's retransmission of the same programming from a PBS station in the United States via cable led to the dispute.
