Plaintiffs sued for malicious prosecution alleging defendant's false complaint led to their wrongful conviction

Gayle Ventures v Clarien Bank Ltd.
Gayle Ventures took a loan from First Bermuda Group Limited secured by a mortgage which was later assigned to Clarien Bank. Ventures ceased payments leading to legal action by Clarien to enforce the loan and mortgage. Ventures appealed against the enforcement but failed to comply with procedural requirements leading to the dismissal of the appeal.

The claim revolves around a $27000 commission from the sale of a property named 'Purple Cow'. The plaintiff Alkon claims entitlement under a Salesman Agreement which the defendant Pond disputes citing a Termination Agreement. The property was sold to a trust beneficiary with Alkon arguing his introduction led to the sale while Pond asserts the sale post-termination nullifies Alkon's claim.
